About ValACE
The Valenzuela City Library or (Valenzuela City Academic Center for Excellence) is a public library located in Valenzuela City, serving its community by providing free resources, including books, digital computers, and discussion rooms.
ValACE, As an exemplary public library
According to RA 7743, Public Libraries should have the following functions:
To be able to provide their community with a wide variety of books.
ValACE offers a wide variety of reading materials that are provided by the LGU which is prescribed by the DepED.
To be able to conduct seminars and programs that can improve their community’s literacy; to provide their community with a wide variety of books.
ValACE has conference rooms where people are free to do practices and discussions, They do collaborations with schools to promote education and literacy.
To offer such other related services in furtherance of this Act.
Patrons express that ValACE continuously offers other programs to promote literacy.
Regular Services in ValACE
Books and
Reading Spaces
Available from 1st to 3rd floors. These spaces are for people who either want to study or lounge around, drinks are allowed in this area.
Children’s Area
Available on the 1st floor. Most programs and events for children such as the ‘storytelling for kids’ are held here.
Study Carrel
Available on the 2nd floor. Provides study cubicles for those who prefer to do their work privately. Only beverages are allowed in this area.
Computer Section
Available on the 3rd floor. Provides cubicles with computers that have Wi-Fi access. Food and drinks are not allowed in this area.
Conference Rooms
Available in the 4th and 5th floors upon reservation. A place where meetings and some events held by the library take place.
ValSPED
A space dedicated for creating handcrafted arts and crafts by their talented participants. Some of their works can also be bought.

Family Time
An event that encourages families to spend time together and do activities!
One Word, One Sign
A program that teaches basic sign language.
ValAce Language Series
A program to teach people how to speak other languages. Japanese is currently the one being taught.
Reading Program
A program that promotes reading among the community. There is one for children and one for teens and adults.
Crochet Hangout Day
An event that allows those who are interested in crochet to to learn and make new things.
Full Moon Viewing
This event happens once a month, it is for viewing the full moon and stargazing through a telescope from their own rooftop.
ACE CLASS
This event happens once a month. A participant must register to attend, its topic varies as the speaker is different every time and they share their skills and expertise.
Pangarap Catalogue
It’s a catalogue where visitors of ValACE can write down their dreams for the future for them to come back to again in the future.
Coffee Night
Once a month, ValACE gives free brewed coffee for those who are still at the library at the late hours.
Dr. Pio Reads
An event where the ValACE showcases books to read for the month.
Ating Gawin!
An arts event held every month where participants make art based on the given theme.
Game Day
A once a month event where people can participate in playing board games!
I like IT! Series
A program where everyone can learn IT skills and hone their digital literacy.
Library Tour
Upon request/reservation, get a tour of ValACE with the staff.
Pass the Board
A program that showcases Valenzuela’s academic topnotchers online and offline.
